Earth Hour, the world’s largest movement for the planet, will take place on Saturday, March 23 at 8:30PM.
People from all walks of life, from all nations around the world, are the lifeblood of the Earth Hour interconnected global community. They have proven time and time again that if you believe in something strongly enough, you can achieve amazing things.
Earth Hour is a fabulous opportunity for you and your family to do something about climate change. On one night, in one hour, more will be done, more will be demonstrated, and more will be learned than any other ‘Green’ initiative.
Individuals, businesses, governments and communities will turn out their lights for one hour on Saturday March 23, 2013 at 8:30 PM to show their support for action on climate change. Earth Hour has always been more than a lights off campaign.
The event began in the City of Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million people switched off their lights.
In 2008, more than 50 million people around the globe participated. In Australian capital cities alone, 58% of adults took part in the lights off campaign.
In 2009, Earth Hour reached out to an estimated 1 billion people in 1,000 cities around the world.
This year, an estimated 2 billion people in over 130 countries worldwide will be participating in Earth Hour.
Will you?
Participate in Earth Hour and you can help make a difference.
Earth Hour is a global WWF climate change initiative.
